I like to point out great blog posts that others have written to expose you to ideas and writers other than myself. Below are three great ones that from which I think you will learn a great deal.
If you have read me at all you know that I think ageism is rampant in our society in general and in the workplace in particular. Boomer Bust — Ageism in the Workplace, written by Rita Pyrillis in Workforce, tells a couple of stories of workers affected by ageism and what they did about it. Check it out.
Can you require an employee to be 100% healed before returning to work?
That is a question I have been asked frequently. It seems reasonable that an employer would like someone to come back fully healed and ready to work. It is however a potential violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act to have this requirement. Online harassment of men and women
The Evil HR Lady, aka Suzanne Lucas, writes in Inc. that online harassment occurs to both men and women, but women handle it differently. Read what the difference is and see what her tips are for what you can do about it in Survey: Online Harassment Happens To Men and Women Equally.
