Want to network, learn and have fun? Attend a Conference!

We all know the value of networking. We all know the value of learning. And of course we all know the value of having fun. So why not combine them into one event? If you want to network, learn and have fun then try attending a conference! There are plenty of them around. But let me suggest one to you. It is right here in my backyard. The SHRM-Atlanta chapter is hosting what may be the largest single chapter conference.
The 21st Annual SHRM-Atlanta Human Resources Conference will be held on October 17 and 18 at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Northwest Atlanta metro. The event is the largest gathering of the human resources community in Georgia this year; last year’s conference drew over 1,000 participants. Kat Cole, president of Cinnabon, presents the keynote address, “Transformational Leadership: Building Teams for Success through Times of Rapid Change,” on Monday, October 17 at 9:40 a.m.  Mary Lynn Miller, SHRM-Atlanta’s chief operating officer said “Legislative changes and compliance, using social networking for recruiting, tackling recruitment and retention as the cost of providing benefits increases… we’re gathering the experts under one roof so HR practitioners at all levels find new insights and tools to improve their personal and company performance.”
Over 60 concurrent breakout sessions organized into seven educational tracks include: Business Acumen & Leadership, Law & Legislation, Total Rewards, Organizational Evolution, Talent Management, Diversity & Inclusion and HR Leveraging Technology. So you cannot fail to learn something.
With a plan 1000 + attendees you cannot avoid connecting with someone. So networking opportunities will abound. And with 100 exhibitors you have the opportunity to be exposed to cutting edge products and ideas. And SWAG!
So check out the website at SHRM-Atlanta and register to attend. If you attend you get a bonus. You can meet me! I will be there blogging and tweeting as well has networking, learning and having fun.
