I was asked to participate in a volunteer program called Give Labor Day. The purpose of this day is to help someone find a job or to help in their job search. I have been doing that already, but for this day I thought I would help in another way. I decided to post links to great blog posts or websites I think are great resources for those working on a job search. So here you go:
- We have all heard about the value of using social media for your job search. And it is very valuable. But there are some considerations for proper use. Jessica Miller-Merrill of Blogging4Jobs writes Job Searching on Social Networks – Yay or Nay? Pay attention.
- Miriam Salpeter of Keppie Careers is a MUST follow for anyone conducting a job search. If you are not being “social” in your search because you are unsure how to use LinkedIn or Twitter or Facebook or Google+, then Miriam can provide you guidance. I have everyone I know buy her book.
- Dan Schawbel knows marketing, especially marketing for jobs. Take a look at his 7 Secrets to Getting Your Next Job Using Social Media .
With these three resources you should be able to greatly improve your job search success. Good luck.
